Generate a QR code: link, Wi-Fi, phone, SMS, e-mail, vCard
Types
Link: any web address. Text: up to 500 characters. Wi-Fi: network name, password and encryption (WPA/WPA2, WEP, open). Phone and SMS: scanning opens the dialer or a pre-filled message. E-mail: recipient, subject and body. vCard: name, company, phone, e-mail, website — scanning offers to save the contact.
Tips
Shorter data means a sparser, easier-to-scan code, so shorten long URLs where you can. Dark code on a light background with a margin scans best. Always test a printed code with a couple of different phones.
Reading QR codes
This tool only generates. Your phone camera reads codes natively; the Android app also includes a scanner with history.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code contains your data directly — there is no redirect server or short link — so it works forever and nobody can count your scans.
How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?
Phone cameras recognise text in the form WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;; and offer to join the network. The name and password are stored in plain form inside the code, so only show it to people you trust.
Which size should I use for print?
Download at 360 px and let the printer scale it; for small surfaces such as business cards keep the code at least 2 cm wide with clear 'quiet zone' around it.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The code is generated entirely in your browser; nothing you type leaves the page.
